Always wash your hands before handling your lenses. Lotions, ointments or other substances on your hands can contaminate your lenses. Good hygiene helps to eliminate germs which can cause eye infections.

Close your eyes to protect your contact lenses from hairspray and other airborne sprays.

Wear, clean and store your lenses according to your contact lens technician's instructions. Remove your lenses immediately if they become uncomfortable. Discomfort can be an early warning sign of a problem. Contact Iowa Eye Center to avoid any complications.

Make your yearly examination appointments to assure that you have the best possible prescription and healthy eyes to allow for continued successful contact lens wearing.

Replace your lenses with a new pair as often as recommended. Old lenses can cause discomfort, decreased vision and may adversely affect your eye health.
