Transition/Photochromic Lenses - These lenses darken and lighten according to light exposure. If you are in the sun, they darken, if indoors the lenses are light. They are available in grey, brown, green and fashion tints pink, yellow and blue. Stop in at Iowa Eye Center Optical to see samples of these colors!

Ultra-violet Protection - The sun's ultra-violet rays pose potential harm to your eyes. UV protection on lenses accomplishes the same thing as sunscreen lotion on your skin--it shields your eyes from harmful UV rays.

Anti-Reflective Coating - This coating helps reduce eye fatigue in many situations, particularly at night and while viewing computer screens. Anti-reflective lenses are also cosmetically desirable, as the wearer's eyes are clearly visible behind the lenses, not hidden in reflections.

Polarized Sun Lenses - Any surface can create glare in sunlight, including water, sand, snow, windows, vehicles, and buildings. Polarization eases eye strain and fatigue in the sun by eliminating glare.

Tinted Lenses - Tints come in a rainbow of color options from very light to very dark to gradient (darker on the top fading to clear on the bottom).

Mirrored Sun Lenses- Mirrored coatings provide a reflective surface that makes the eye invisible to viewers. Mirrors come in a variety of colors to enhance visual performance.

High Index Lenses - Thinner, flatter lenses enhance the lens appearance by reducing edge or center thickness. They are lighter weight and have Ultra-violet protection.
